Virat Kohli surpasses Novak Djokovic and Kylian Mbappé and emerges as the fifth most-searched sportsperson on Google

Virat Kohli managed to surpass Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic and France’s football sensation Kylian Mbappé to emerge as the fifth most-searched sportsperson on Google. Cristiano Ronaldo dominates the search list with 199.4 million searches.
Apart from Ronaldo, Neymar Jr., Lionel Messi, and LeBron James occupy the top four positions on the list. Kohli garnered 68 million searches on Google, making him the most searched Indian as well as Asian player.
Kohli’s contributions to making cricket a global sport are immense. His popularity has also made non-cricket watchers fans of the sport.
The 34-year-old is also the third most-followed sportsman on Instagram with 260-plus million followers and it may cross 300 next year. According to many fans and experts, Kohli’s popularity helped cricket become a part of Los Angeles’ 2028 Olympic Games after 128 years.
Virat Kohli visits another ashram before the match against England
Virat Kohli was spotted at the Chinmaya Tapovan Ashram in Dharamsala ahead of India’s next World Cup match against England on October 29 in Lucknow. After winning the match over New Zealand in Dharamsala, Indian players decided to stay in Himachal Pradesh for two days instead of flying to Lucknow.
Kohli, who has made headlines for his visiting ashrams in the past, continued the tradition by visiting the Chinmaya Tapovan ashram. As always, the pictures started going viral.

Kohli, in India’s previous match against New Zealand, played a match-winning knock of 95 runs. Prior to this knock, he scored his 48th ODI century against Bangladesh. If he scores another century, he will equal Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most tons in ODIs.
