Virat Kohli is the former captain of the Indian national cricket team and an excellent player. He made his international debut in 2008 and soon established himself as a key member of the ODI squad. Later in 2011, he made his Test debut. Kohli ascended to the top of the ICC rankings for ODI batsmen in 2013. In 2021, Kohli decided to step down as captain of the Indian team for T20Is, and in early 2022, he also stood down as captain of the Test team. He is also a member of the Indian squad for the 2023 Asia Cup, which he hopes to achieve. Two weeks after the Asia Cup, India will host the 2023 ICC One-Day International Cricket World Cup.

Virat Kohli has a distinguished reputation in the Asia Cup. He has participated in a combined total of 19 Asia Cup ODI and T20I matches. Kohli has scored a remarkable 613 runs in ODIs during the Asia Cup, averaging 61.30.

2010 Asia Cup

In 2010, India were the champions of the tournament. During the 2010 Asia Cup, Kohli was in the squad and batted at number three. However, he struggled with his form and scored 67 runs at an average of 16.75.

2012 Asia Cup

In 2012, India failed to qualify for the finals. But in the season, Virat Kohli played one of his most impressive innings against Pakistan.Kohli displayed his batting skills by scoring an amazing 183 off 148 balls, pushing India to a six-wicket win.

2014 Asia Cup

In 2014, India traveled to Bangladesh for the Asia Cup. Dhoni was ruled out, making Kohli the captain of the Indian squad. Kohli scored 136 off 122 balls in India’s opening match against Bangladesh. However, India had failed to qualify for the Finals again.

2022 Asia Cup

In 2022, he smashed 122 runs off 61 balls, hitting 12 fours and six sixes, and became the first batsman to score a T20I hundred and broke his own record for the highest individual score in the Asia Cup’s T20I format.
