Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag revealed that he had a secret pact with Sachin Tendulkar where Sehwag asked Master Blaster to do a task for him if he got to his third Test triple century. The former swashbuckling India opener has two triple centuries in Test cricket.
Sehwag’s maiden triple ton (309) came in March 2004 against Pakistan in Multan. The second one (319) came against South Africa in Chennai. Sehwag’s 319 is still the highest score by an Indian in Test cricket.

What was Virender Sehwag’s secret request to Sachin Tendulkar?
Sehwag revealed that he had requested Sachin Tendulkar to do a secret task for him if he managed to get his third triple century in Test cricket. He said, “I have never spoken of this before. And probably I feel I would never say this to anyone. There was a moment where I told Sachin, ‘If I get a third triple century, you will get a job done for me.’
The request however was never completed as Virender Sehwag never got to his third Test triple century. The closest he got to his third was when he was dismissed for 293 against Sri Lanka in 2009 at the Brabourne Stadium. Though he says the task is now done without Sachin’s help, he never disclosed what his request was and also said that even Sachin Tendulkar doesn’t know what it is to date.
Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag are good friends off the field and this anecdote is an example of their friendship. The legendary duo has scored twelve 100+ partnerships for India in ODI cricket.
