During India versus Bangladesh on Thursday (October 19), umpire Richard Kettleborough made a controversial decision when Virat Kohli was on the verge of scoring his century at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Bangladeshi bowler Nasum Ahmed delivered the ball towards the leg stump of Kohli but instead of calling it a wide delivery, the umpire, after a bit of contemplation, decided not to give it. This triggered a huge debate on social media.

Fans said the umpire made that decision to help Kohli reach his century. Amid such claims, Pakistani great Wasim Akram opined that it was clearly a mistake from the umpire, slamming those who are creating the conspiracy theories, such as the umpire did it on purpose to help Kohli.
