WATCH: A lucky escape as Pat Cummins denied Rovman Powell’s wicket when ball hits stumps but bails stand still
Pat Cummins and Rovman Powell
One of cricket’s bizarre incidents happened when West Indies’ Rovamn Powell was saved from Pat Cummins’ delivery. The ball perfectly hit the stumps but the bails remained in its place. This incident happened when West Indies locked horns with Australia in the second T20I on October 7.
In the first ball of the 16th over of the second innings, Cummins bowled a slower one and Powell went for a pull shot. However, he missed it and the ball hit his body instead, touching the off-stumps. The bails didn’t light up and Cummins was denied a wicket.

Cummins, however, dismissed Powell a few minutes later. A top edge saw wicketkeeper Matthew Wade taking a skier. Powell departed after scoring 18 runs off 17 balls, while Cummins ended the innings with two wickets.
