Mark Wood is well and truly back for England. After he bamboozled Australia in their first innings with a fiery five-wicket haul, cleaning up Usman Khawaja and the Aussie tail, he showed up with the bat as well, this time to hit the Australian bowlers out of the park.
Wood picked up 5/34 in 11.4 overs in the first innings. In the second, he went on to score an 8-ball-24 cameo where he smashed the Aussie bowlers for 3 sixes and a four. After being out for the first two Ashes Tests, Mark Wood has made a resounding return in the English side, giving them the hope of staying alive in the series.
In his five-wicket haul, Wood also managed to bowl the fastest over ever bowled at Headingley, bowling at speeds of 91, 93, 95, 93, 94, and 93 KMPH.

Mark Wood smokes Aussies for three massive sixes
The Aussie tail was butchered by Mark Wood in the Australian first innings as well as the English first innings. After cleaning up the bowlers with the ball, Wood smoked them for three massive sixes. He hit two sixes and a boundary off Mitchel Starc and one six off skipper Pat Cummins.

Australia are currently leading the five-match Ashes series by 2-0. Mark Wood has been the knight in shining armor for the English side, helping them stay afloat in the series but it will be interesting to see if England can continue with the same effort in the remaining days of the Test Match.
