Virat Kohli made his return to the cricketing field after over two months when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) locked horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday (March 22) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. But he couldn’t do much with the bat because, after playing a slow innings, he lost his wicket to Mustafizur Rahman.
On the second ball of the 12th over, Kohli went for a pull shot off Rahman’s short ball. The 35-year-old sent the ball toward the mid-wicket region, but Ajinkya Rahane, who had to sprint to grab the ball, caught it while sliding.

But, he lost control over it, and eventually his body touched the boundary ropes, but not before he threw the ball toward Rachin Ravindra, who ran toward Rahane in time from deep square left to catch the ball. The video of the relay catch has been doing rounds on social media.

Virat Kohli completes 12,000 T20 runs
Though Virat Kohli played a mediocre innings in the match, he completed 12,000 T20 runs during that knock. This made him the sixth batter in the world to reach the milestone.

Before him, Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales, and David Warner completed 12,000 runs in the shortest format. ‘Universe Boss’ Gayle, who dominated the shortest format like no other, tops the list with 14562 runs.
Kohli is also the first Indian to reach this landmark in the shortest format. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is in second spot with 11156 runs, while Shikhar Dhawan has scored 9645 runs.
RCB, meanwhile, will play their second match on Monday (March 25) against Punjab Kings in Bengaluru. Kohli will try his best to enthral everyone at his favorite ground where he played some of the best innings in the Indian Premier League.
