Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Umran Malik restricted Kolkata Knight Riders’ innings but Andre Russell displayed his destructive form once again to lift it to a decent total 177/6 in 20 overs on Saturday, May 14, at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
Andre Russell has missed his 50 by a run. He smashed three fours and four sixes in 28 balls to score an unbeaten 49 runs with a strike rate of 175. Also, he became the fastest batsman to complete 2000 runs in IPL history.
In last 5 years only 4 times a player remained unbeaten on 49* and that player is Andre Russell.

Meanwhile KKR won the toss and opted to bat first. Top order couldn’t add much on the board. Openers Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane scored 7 and 28 respectively. Nitish Rana had scored 26 off 24 balls.
Umran Malik conceded 33 runs by taking three wickets in his four overs at an economy rate of 8.25. He had dismissed Rahane, Rana, and Shreyas Iyer.
But Sam Billings scored 34 in 29 runs by smashing 3 fours and a six before Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent him back. In the 18.5 overs, Bhuvneshwar delivered a length ball outside off. Billings booked to hit it over extra-cover. But he got the bottom of his blade and ended up hitting it straight to Kane Williamson at the extra cover.
