Australia vs Pakistan match summary
Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. On the flat Bengaluru pitch, the Aussie openers wreaked havoc, stitching 200-plus runs for the first wicket between David Warner and Mitchell Marsh who both scored their centuries. But after their dismissals, Australia lost wickets quickly and got reduced to 367/9, courtesy of Shaheen Afridi’s five-wicket haul.
Pakistan got off to a flying start but their losing regular wickets after the departure of the openers snatched from them the victory. Openers Imam-Ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique stitched a 134-run stand. And though Mohammad Rizwan shouldered the responsibility to take Pakistan to the target, his dismissal ensured Australia the victory by 62 runs.
