WATCH: ‘Broady! Shut up and Bat’-Angry umpire scolds Stuart Broad during India vs England; video goes viral
Stuart Broad
A video of umpire Richard Kettleborough is going viral on the internet. Kettleborough was heard scolding to England’s veteran bowler Stuart Broad during the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
The umpire said: “Let us do the umpiring and you do the batting alright? Otherwise, you are going to get into trouble again. One for the over.” But Broad kept on chirping which made the umpire to say, “Broady! Broady! Get on with the batting and shut up.”
You can watch the video below:
This incident happened on Day 3 of the fifth Test when Broad was batting with Sam Billings although he walked back to the dressing room soon after Mohammed Siraj dismissed him for one run. Broad has reached his personal landmark of 550 wickets in Test cricket. However, he also recorded the unwanted 35 runs in an over in the history of Test cricket when Jasprit Bumrah smashed him with fours and sixes in an over.

India vs England match so far
India in its first innings had posted a massive run of 416 with the help of two centuries from Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja. Endland got all out on 284. In the second innings, India scored 378 runs and with Alex Hales, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow‘s scores, the host has so far scored 259 runs for three wickets.
Also, England’s successful run chase came in 2019 when they reached a 358-run target in an Ashes Test with the help of England captain Ben Stokes’ unbeaten century. Root and Bairstow will open the innings of Day 5 with their 76* and 72* respectively. On Day 5, England will need only 119 runs to win the fifth Test. Since India is already leading the series by 2-1, their defeat would draw the series.
