On 23rd August, 2023, the Indian Space Research Organization achieved a feat achieved by no other country, soft landing on the south pole of the moon. ISRO launched Chandrayaan 3 on 14th July, 2023 and entered lunar orbit on 5th August. The Vikram lander separated from the propulsion module on 17th August and 6 days later, it successfully landed on the lunar surface on 23rd August. 

The entire country celebrated the landing, with the YouTube live stream of the landing peaking at 8 million viewers at one point. The Indian team currently in Ireland were watching the livestream before the 3rd T20I started.  ISRO made India the 4th country to achieve soft landing on the Moon, with USSR, USA and China landing before India.

Ex-Indian captain, MS Dhoni was watching the iconic moment with some people, with all of them glued to the TV. As Vikram achieved a soft landing on the lunar surface, everyone started clapping and celebrating. But Captain Cool was just calm and started capping his thighs. 

Meanwhile, the video of Dhoni’s daughter, Ziva, celebrating the landing also went viral, with her being the exact opposite. She was applauding and shouting in joy watching Vikram land.

Will Dhoni feature in another season of the IPL or it’s the end of the road?

MS Dhoni just led the Chennai Super Kings to their 5th IPL title, equalising the record set by Rohit Sharma. At the age of 41, Dhoni has scored 104 runs in 12 innings. Though these numbers look bad, Dhoni usually used to come bat towards the end of the innings. He was striking at 182.46. 

In the 2023 IPL, Dhoni played the entire tournament with a knee injury and right after the final, he underwent a surgery for his knee. Dhoni said he would love to play another season of IPL, but it depends on his body. Some players think he should retire, but at the same time fans want their Thala to return for another IPL.
