In Sunday’s second match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 16, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the watchers of the game saw something hilarious in the first over itself. Bowler Trent Boult pulled off a caught and bowled, but it was much more than that.
The incident happened in the third game of the first over. Boult bowled a hard-length delivery to opener Wriddhiman Saha. Saha attempted to whip it but top-edged it high in the air.

It was high enough but the moment it was falling down, keeper Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel, plus Shimron Hetmyer ran after the ball, and in a comedy of errors, they collided with each other. Samson dropped the catch. The ball was in the air when Boult, who ran there after his follow-through, pouched it safely. It was indeed a hilarious incident but Saha certainly was not happy as he had to depart after scoring four runs from three balls.

Shubman Gill playing responsibly to give a competitive target to RR
Gujarat Titans have lost three wickets so far for 100 runs in 12 overs. When at one end, Gujarat’s other batters fumbled, Shubman Gill did not lose his wicket easily and has so far scored 39 runs from 25 balls. He and David Miller (six off six) are at the crease and are steering the team to a competitive total. Sai Sudharshan scored 20 off 19, while skipper Hardik Pandya departed after scoring 28 runs from 19 balls.
Notably, the two teams, RR and GT, were the finalist of last year’s IPL. Gujarat chased down the paltry target with Gill and Miller’s knocks to get crowned as the champions in their maiden appearance.
