40-year-old Amit Mishra is currently working for JioCinema’s broadcasting team for the Australian cricket team’s tour of India. On the evening of 26th September, JioCinema were live streaming the practice session of the Indian team, where Rohit Sharma had finally returned after being rested.
Rohit Sharma was batting in the nets before joining the broadcasting team for a short conversation. The Indian captain then noticed how red Amit Mishra’s eyes were and asked him how it was red. The leg spinner replied that he hadn’t slept much at night.
Rohit Sharma then commented how his commitment was to the job and how he never put that much effort on the pitch. The Indian captain further said how Amit Mishra never played with him, to this, Mishra replied, “Tune kabhi bulaya nahi!” (You never called me).
India deal with players on leave and injuries during 3rd ODI
As India have already won the 3 match ODI series against Australia. They won the first two games comfortably with both sides resting key players. In the first ODI, India chased down a target of 276 with 8 balls in hand. In the 2nd ODI, they bowled out Australia for 217 after scoring 399.
In the 3rd ODI, Captain Rohit Sharma returned to the side along with Virat Kohli and Kuldeep Yadav. Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami and Shubman Gill were rested for the 3rd ODI in Rajkot, whereas Ishan Kishan wasn’t available due to sickness. Axar Patel is likely to return to full fitness before the warm up matches.
Australia chose to bat first in the 3rd ODI. Openers David Warner and Mitch Marsh started with a bang, reaching 100 runs in their first 11 overs. The opening partnership was worth 78 runs and Steve Smith and Marsh then put up a partnership worth 137 runs. Although the Australian batters are scoring at a fast rate, they are struggling with the heat. Australia are currently 3 wickets down with the score of 244 in 33 overs.
