Virat Kohli fails in 2023 Asia Cup match against Pakistan
Indian cricket fans expected Virat Kohli to recreate what he did last year in the T20 World Cup in Australia against Pakistan. He played a memorable 82-run knock in a drama-filled clash.
But in the ongoing 2023 Asia Cup tournament, Kohli invited criticism after he flopped while facing the menacing Shaheen Shah Afridi. The length ball from Afridi hit the inside edge of Kohli’s bat and went past him to shatter the stump. He could score just four runs from seven balls. Afridi on the other hand sent four Indian batters to packing.

Kohli will be next seen on Monday (September 4) when India will take on Nepal at the Pallekele Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka. But rain may play spoilsport just like in the Pakistan match.
The India-Pakistan match ended without a result. India, despite top-order failure, reached 266 after Ishan Kishan’s 82 and Hardik Pandya‘s 87. Pakistan could not even start their run chase and eventually, the match was called off. Heavy downpour is again expected in Kandy during the India-Nepal match.
