Ever since Naveen Ul Haq got involved in an ugly verbal spat with star India batter Virat Kohli during an IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB, he has been making the headlines for one or the other reason. While Haq was earlier in the news for taking cryptic digs at Kohli through his Instagram posts and stories, this time he was on the receiving end. 

As the Lucknow pacer featured in the team’s lineup for their match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday and was fielding at the boundary, Naveen Ul Haq was teased by the home crowd. A bunch of fans directed ‘Kohli Kohli’ chants at Haq while the LSG fielder stood close to the boundary ropes. Naveen, in reply, was seen gesturing to the crowd to keep the chants going.

Notably, post the on-field spat, Kohli and Haq have been getting involved in indirect banters on social media. While Naveen Ul Haq has been enjoying RCB’s defeats, Kohli posted a message wherein he talked about not holding any grudges. Amid all this banter, the two teams are working hard to solidify their position in the IPL 2023 playoffs.

Lucknow Super Giants inch closer to the ultimate goal

Lucknow Super Giants inched closer to their target of qualifying for the IPL 2023 playoffs as they beat five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday. LSG, under Krunal Pandya, put on a brilliant fight as they defended their total of 177. Ravi Bishnoi (2/26), Yash Thakur (2/40), and Mohsin Khan (1/26) starred with the ball in hand after Marcus Stoinis (89* off 47) show. 

Meanwhile, Naveen Ul Haq struggled with his lengths in the penultimate over as he conceded 19 runs. Overall, the LSG pacer gave away 37 runs in his four overs without any success.
