MS Dhoni takes the long walk back to the pavilion after getting dismissed for golden duck.

The summit clash of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was eventually played on reserve day (29 May) but it did not end the way MS Dhoni fans would have liked. While they waited for over 30 hours to probably see Dhoni last time in yellow jersey or batter say on the field, their hero got dismissed for a golden duck in what is being deemed as his last professional game.

As Ambati Rayudu departed while trying to take on Mohit Sharma, MS Dhoni finally promoted himself up the order. With Dhoni walking out to bat, fans were excited and were hoping for him to take CSK home one last time. However, as it turned out, Dhoni chipped a full ball straight to the extra cover fielder.

As Mohit Sharma bowled a full ball on the off-stump, Dhoni tried to work it out but ended up slicing it in the air. Meanwhile, Miller who was stationed at extra cover pouched it safely to end a billion hopes to see MS Dhoni finish the game one last time.
