Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq is in India for the 2023 ODI World Cup, which means, he won’t be playing peacefully without hearing the ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chants while fielding near the boundary rope. During Afghanistan’s first match itself at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Saturday (October 7), videos started surfacing on social media of fans teasing the youngster with Virat Kohli‘s name.
The rivalry between Naveen and Kohli started during the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The two got involved in an ugly altercation and it became the biggest talking point of the cash-rich league.
And post that incident, Naveen constantly has to deal with the ‘Kohli Kohli’ chants from the fans. In all possibilities, several similar videos will be going viral during Afghanistan’s matches this World Cup.

Virat Kohli is on the cusp of breaking World Cup record
Virat Kohli will be playing his fourth ODI World Cup after first appearing in the 2011 edition where India enjoyed a successful campaign by winning the trophy. After playing two World Cups under MS Dhoni, Kohli led the Men in Blue in the 2019 edition.
And now, the 34-year-old is also on the verge of breaking a record of Anil Kumble by becoming the Indian player with the most catches in the ODI World Cup. At present, both Kohli and Kumble grabbed 14 catches. Kumble achieved the feat in 18 matches, while Kohli needed 26 matches to do so.
India have started their World Cup preparation and will start their campaign against Australia on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After Australia, India will face Afghanistan on October 8 before facing Babar Azam and company on October 14.
