WATCH: Dinesh Chandimal ‘s huge six lands outside on street; hits a passerby during SL vs AUS 2nd Test
Dinesh Chandimal
Sri Lanka produced some excellent performance both with the bat and the ball that helped them to win the second Test against Australia at the Galle International Stadium. The host had came back from the dissapointment of the first Test and fought hard to secure the match by an innings and 39 runs.
Another most interesting thing happened during the match. Dinesh Chandimal played a crucial role with his maiden double century, which also made him the first from his country to do so against Australia. He remained unbeaten on 206* as the Lions piled a mammorth 554/10 in their first innings and took a lead of 190 runs.
Chandimal also surpassed the legendary Kumar Sangakkara, who held the record of highest individual score against Australia in Test. Sangakkara had scored 192 runs at Perth in 2007.
In the over of Mitchell Starc, Chandimal was at that time batting at 185 with Lankans losing already nine wickets. He smashed the Aussie pacer for a four which was followed by couple of sixes on successive balls and reached the double century.
But one of the sixes was so huge, it crossed the stadium and landed outside it. But the ball had also hit a passerby.

Prabath Jayasuriya reaches milestone
It was debutant Prabath Jayasuriya who was also the star of the show for the Lankans. His excellent spell of spin attack left Australian batters getting bamboozled in both the innings. He took six wickets each in both innings in his debut match and his figures of 12-177 are the best by a Sri Lankan debutant.
Sri Lankans will play home Test series against Pakistan on Saturday, July 16.
