Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not a man who shows his emotions but such was the adrenaline rush during the IPL 2023 Final that even Dhoni could not stop himself from pouring his emotions out. While the CSK skipper sat like a monk with his eyes closed during the winning moments, Dhoni could not stop himself from lifting Ravindra Jadeja while walking out on the field. 

As Dhoni with his teammates walked out to shake hands as the post-match tradition, the Chennai captain lifted Jadeja in elation. The CSK all-rounder meanwhile animatedly hugged his captain. The moment was captured in the camera and the picture spread like wildfire. Dhoni also hugged Jadeja’s wife Rivaba Jadeja while celebrating CSK’s fifth title win.

Ravindra Jadeja dedicates the win to MS Dhoni

While Dhoni was elated as ever post this win over Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 Final, Ravindra Jadeja said that this was for MS. Jadeja also thanked the crowd for being patient and waiting this long till the game was over.

“Feeling amazing winning fifth title in front of my home crowd. They’ve come in big numbers to support CSK. This crowd has been amazing. They were waiting for rain to stop till late night. Want to say big congratulations to CSK fans. Want to dedicate this win to one of the special members of our team – MS Dhoni. I was just thinking that I need to swing hard no matter what. Yeah anything can happen. I was looking to hit straight because Mohit can bowl slower ones. Want to say congratulations to each and every fan of CSK. Just keep cheering the way you’ve been cheering,” said Jadeja post the win.
