RCB had won the toss and decided to bowl first. PBKS batters Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan started the inning but couldn’t give a good start. Bairstow had to depart in the third over off Mohammed Siraj‘s delivery.

When Bairstow attempted to cut the ball to send it towards mid-off, Kohli caught it safely to dismiss the English batter. With this catch, the 35-year-old created a massive record in T20 cricket.

Kohli became the first Indian player with the most catches in the history of the shortest format of the game. He surpassed Suresh Raina who had grabbed 172 catches in T20 matches.

Meanwhile, late fireworks by Dinesh Karthik and Impact Player Mahipal Lomror took RCB past the target. They were on the brink of losing the match but Karthik’s unbeaten 28 off 10 and Lomror’s unbeaten 17 off eight balls won RCB the match.

RCB will now face Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29. PBKS on the other hand will meet Lucknow Super Giants on March 30.
