Sri Lanka is witnessing the Monsoon season and though people generally enjoy the freshness rain brings in blazing hot weather, the cricket watchers of the Asian countries are disappointed because of multiple interruption. Sri Lanka is co-hosting the 2023 Asia Cup along with Pakistan. And during India’s match against Pakistan, Hardik Pandya broke into a burst of laughter after a short drizzle fooled everyone.

India are playing their second Group A match of the continental tournament against Nepal on Monday (September 4) at the Pallekele Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Like India’s previous match against Pakistan, this match is also seeing multiple rain hindrances.

During Nepal’s batting, rain fooled everyone not once but twice. The first incident occurred after Mohammed Siraj completed the 30th over. The black cloud hovered above the ground for a while and brought with it light drizzle and with it, the groundsmen quickly ran with the cover. But the drizzle had stopped then. The players quickly got back to their positions.

Then in the 35th over when Ravindra Jadeja came to bowl, the light drizzle started again. The Nepali batters were running back to the dressing room but Indian players did not move. Stumps were removed but the rain again stopped. Hardik Pandya saw the funny side of it and broke into a burst of laughter. He even teased the umpire and hugged him.
