India had a great day with the ball in their World Cup match with Pakistan. Despite being 155-2, Pakistan were bowled out for only 191 runs. After Mohammed Siraj bowled Babar Azam, the Pakistan batting order only managed to score 36 runs while losing 8 wickets. Talking to the expert’s panel of Star Sports, Hardik Pandya believed Babar and Mohammad Rizwan ensured India were still in the game even when Pakistan were 155-2.
When asked about the way the Pakistan duo batted, Hardik said, “Babar & Rizwan were timid. They didn’t take any chances, which is why we were always in the game. They didn’t try going for shots or attack which is why we were able to bowl dot balls.” Babar Azam scored a 50 off 58 balls, while Rizwan scored 49 off 69. Although both did score well, the duo took their time in the middle.
After Babar and Mohammad Rizwan were dismissed, the Pakistan batting order fell down like a house of cards, with the highest score coming from Hasan Ali with 12 runs. Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj, Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja each picked up 2 wickets.
