Over the years, cricket and the sporting world, in general, have seen a lot of funny ways in with people invade pitches to meet some of their favourite athletes. However, some people invade pitches, bringing games to halt for no reason at all. A rather similar but bizarre incident took place in Southampton, England at the start of the red ball cricket season.
A young kid drove his bike onto the pitch and there was no security to stop him. The players and umpires on the ground were clueless as the game came to a halt. Eventually, the kid himself returned to the stands and off the ground for the play to be resumed. The incident reportedly took place on 30th April. The video was first uploaded on TikTok by the Southampton Union Cricket Club and later uploaded on twitter by the Barmy Army where it received a huge response.

The Video was captioned, ‘The Youth of Today’ implying just how careless and irresponsible people are today. People started to call back similar incidents that happened in the past as they reacted to the video. Most notably the incident during the Ranji Trophy season of 2017, where a man drove his Wagon R onto the pitch. The man was reportedly lost and there was no security on the pitch.
People also recalled another hilarious pitch invasion that took place during the India-England test series. Daniel Jarvis, an Englishman invaded the pitch multiple times during the series. He once entered the Pitch wearing an Indian jersey and pretended to play an Indian player as well. Although, the man faced concrete repercussions after the incident.
