Indian wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan brought up his maiden Test fifty in the 2nd Test match against the West Indies in scintillating fashion. The left-handed batter hit a daring one-handed six to achieve this feat, a shot which is often linked to another Indian wicket-keeper, Rishab Pant. Pant is currently recovering at the NCA after he suffered from a horrifying car accident.

Kishan remained not out in India’s 2nd innings after he scored 52 off just 34 deliveries including four boundaries and two sixes. India declared at 181/2 to set a target of 365 runs for the hosts to chase in the fourth innings.

Ishan Kishan paid special tribute to Rishab Pant as he used a bat with his initials and jersey number on it. Kishan was seen playing with a bat that had ‘RP17’ written on it. Kishan’s heartwarming tribute to his teammate Rishab Pant who has been out since his terrible accident in December has won hearts on the internet.

The BCCI recently released a recovery update on some players where they mentioned that Rishab Pant has started his batting and keeping practice again. While this is a great sign for India and for Pant’s overall recovery, it is highly unlikely that he will be fit in time to play in the ODI World Cup for India.
