A couple of minutes after 6 PM on Wednesday (August 23), Indians, who were desperately waiting to witness the historic moment, finally watched Vikram lander successfully land on the moon. The Chandrayaan-3 lunar exploration mission developed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) was successfully accomplished, and the nation, including Team India players, celebrated the moment.

India became the only fourth country, after the USA, Russia, and China, to achieve a soft landing on the moon. But the most celebrated thing about this mission was that India became the first country to send a lander to the moon’s south pole.

ISRO executed the Chandrayaan-2 mission in 2019 but the lander crashed when it deviated from its trajectory. That was the same year when the last edition of the ODI World Cup was played in England and India failed to win the trophy after losing the semi-final to Kane Williamson-led New Zealand.

But after the success of Chandrayaan-3, Mumbai Indian (MI) posted a meme on its X account. The meme comprised four pictures, on top was the disappointed face of ex-ISRO chairman K Sivan after the failure of Chandrayaan-2, and of Rohit Sharma with the date being 2019. As Chandrayan-3 achieved the landmark in 2023, MI teased the fans about the result of the 2023 ODI World Cup with the pictures of current ISRO chairman S. Somnath and a question mark.
