WATCH: Jonny Bairstow lifts Sam Curran in unusual workout training
Jonny Bairstow and Sam Curran
English batter Jonny Bairstow is training hard before the T20I series against South Africa. In a video, he was seen doing an unique workout in the gym. He was lifting Sam Curran over his shoulders while doing lunges.
Bowler Reece Topley shared the video and this has raised lots of questions. Several people expressed their concerns that this might cause him an injury. He may have hurt his knees while doing this. He was seen departing a training session with strapping and ice-traps around his left knee. Although, England Cricket Board has not yet updated about Bairstow’s inclusion in the first T2OI.
Even in Bairstow’s training video, he could be seen going through some sort of struggle while lifting Curran. Watch the video below:

Jonny Bairstow wants to play three formats
Jonny Bairstow had recently said that he wants to play all three formats of the sport for “as long as possible”. Ben Stokes‘ retirement from international cricket has raised this debate about playing all-format cricket. Several people in the cricker community have agreed that it’s difficult to play all-format cricket. But Bairstow had a different answer.
“I don’t know if it’s good or bad that I’m one of the last all-format players,” Bairstow told Sky Sports on Friday ahead of the second ODI against South Africa at Emirates Old Trafford.
“But naturally there are challenges, we’ve seen that over a period of time now. We only had to look at the Test series this summer when there was the one-day squad in Holland at the same time. I think even if you look at the back end of this summer as well, there are the seven T20s in Pakistan that pretty much overlap with the last Test match. And it even goes back to the last World Cup where then you fly straight to the Ashes with a week’s preparation after quarantining, then straight into the Test match,” he added.
