West Indies all-rounder Kyle Mayers’ brilliant catch dismissed India captain Shikhar Dhawan in the second ODI on Sunday, July 24 at the Port of Spain in Trinidad. Dhawan had scored a fine 97 runs in the first ODI but couldn’t do the same in the second match.
Romario Shepherd was the bowler to dismiss Dhawan in the 11th over. Shepherd delivered a short one outside off-stump. Dhawan tried playing an upper-cut, the bat even connected well. But, Mayers ran to his right side and dived brilliantly to take the catch at deep third man. Dhawan went back after 13 runs off 31 balls.

India vs West Indies game so far
Shai Hope’s 115 runs off 135 balls helped the Windies set a huge target of 312 for the Indians. Kyle Mayers and Shamrah Brooks contributed 39 runs and 35 runs respectively. While, Windies skipper Nicholas Pooran played a quick 74 runs off 77 balls. Pooran and Hope stitched a 117-run partnership between them.
India so far has scored 190/4 at the completion of 37 overs. Sanju Samson and Deepak Hooda are at the crease now. Samson is at 46 off 44 balls while Hooda is a new batter and so far, has scored 9 runs off 13 balls. He came out after Alzarri Joseph dismissed Shreyas Iyer who scored 63 runs off 71 balls. Shubman Gill has also contributed 43 runs off 49 balls.
India is leading the three-match ODI series by 1-0. In the previous match, the Men in Blue almost lost the match because of the Windies middle-order batsmen’s brilliant knocks. In the final over, West Indies needed 15 runs but lost the match by three runs.
