After Sri Lanka’s disappointing collapse following a good start, Australia started losing quick wickets. But Marnus Labuschagne and Josh Inglis stitched a valuable stand between them, helping the Aussies steady their ship.

Their partnership ensured Australia their first victory in this World Cup after two back-to-back disappointing defeats, against India and South Africa. Sri Lanka, who lost to South Africa and Pakistan in their previous two matches, is still searching for their first point in this ODI World Cup. Australia will next face Pakistan on October 20, while Sri Lanka will meet the Netherlands on October 20.
