On Wednesday, August 17, in the Royal One Day Cup match between Surrey and Somerset at the Kennington Oval in London, the latter’s fielder Matt Renshaw plucked a stunning catch at slips to dismiss Ryan Patel off Kasey Aldridge’s over.
This happended in the 6th over when Aldridge was bowling over the wicket to Patel. Aldridge delivered a shorter-length bodyline delivery and Patel tried to defend it but it got an outside edge. Renshaw at slips then dived to his left and grabbed a spectacular catch.

Somerset vs Surrey
Somerset won the toss and opted to bowl first. This game was almost a must-win for both the sides to stay in the competition. Surrey scored 302/9 while Somerset could score 68/3 before rain stopped the match and Surrey won it by 43 runs (D/L method).
After Patel’s wicket, the whole team celebrated knowing the importance of his wicket because Patel has been in brilliant form in the tournament. For Surrey, he has scored so far two half-centuries and one century.
While Renshaw too is in good form as he scored 240 runs with one century and one half-century. The 26-year-old Australian is leading Somerset.
For Australia, he has played in 11 Tests and scored 636 runs in the format including one century and three half-centuries.
Several top players are playing in the Royal London Cup. Recently, Cheteshwar Pujara, who is playing for Sussex scored a 79-ball 107 against Warwickshire. Then against Surrey, he played another centurion knock of 174 runs off 131 balls.
