Just a few deliveries after losing two wickets in a single over, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammed Nawaz started to build a partnership to finish the Pakistan innings strong. The team had only two wickets in hand. Unfortunately what followed was a comedy of errors.

Colin Ackerman bowled around the wicket to Afridi and the latter went for the reverse sweep which he missed. The ball hit his hand and went short fine leg. Nawaz went for the run, but was sent back by Shaheen. The fielder threw it to the bowler’s end, where Ackermann fumbled the ball.

Seeing the fumble, Shaheen finally called for a run. Unfortunately Nawaz was late as a fielder collected the ball and ran the all-rounder out. Even in the replays, Nawaz was nowhere near the crease. The 29-year-old departed for 39 runs of 43 balls.

Pakistan soon lost their last wicket sixteen balls later. Haris Rauf ensured he put some runs on the board after he hit Ackermann for a boundary and a maximum in the two balls before he was stumped.
