India pacer Mohammed Shami shared a video on his Instagram where he could be seen rescuing a car accident victim near Nainital in Uttarakhand. The car fell from the road in front of Shami’s car, whose entourage then rescued the man.
Shami took a break from international cricket after the conclusion of the 2023 ODI World Cup. In the final, India failed to defend a target of 241 runs and lost the match by six wickets. Despite missing the first four group-stage matches, he emerged as the highest wicket-taker for India with 24 scalps.
He’s so lucky god gave him a 2nd life. His car fell down near Nanital just in front of my car. We took him out very safely.Shami wrote on Instagram.

Mohammed Shami recalls humble beginnings
During a recent interview with PUMA, Mohammed Shami talked about the hardships he faced in his professional and personal life. He opened up about his mental health struggles and how he overcame them.
The 33-year-old recalled his humble beginnings and how he used to drive trucks. He revealed once he drove his friend’s truck to the pond and got scolded by his father. Shami also said he used to love bikes, but after he got selected for the national team, he stopped riding them due to the fear of getting injured.
One of my school friends had a truck in his house. He told me to drive. I was small then and was driving on the ground. I drove our tractor into the pond too. My father scolded me.
Shami is not a part of the five-match T20I series against Australia. India are currently leading 1-0 in the series. The second T20I will be played on Sunday (November 26).
