Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has not spent a lot of time in the middle with a bat in hand. But in the limited time spent, Dhoni has left a huge impact. Coming in to bat at No.7 or 8, Dhoni has scored 103 runs at an average of 51.50 and at a strike rate of 190.74. The CSK skipper has hit ten sixes in these 14 outings and Dhoni is preparing to add a few more as CSK gear up for the Qualifier 1 clash against Gujarat Titans (GT).

The four-time champions will take on defending champions at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday evening. Dhoni’s CSK will want to make the most of home advantage and their captain will also want to make a contribution with the bat in hand. MS Dhoni was seen sweating it out in the nets and timing the ball as sweeter it could get. 

While Dhoni may not get a chance to bat, the responsibility will be on the shoulders of Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad yet again. The two players have formed a formidable opening pair while also performing individually. Devon Conway has amassed 585 runs in 14 matches so far while Gaikwad has scored just over 500 runs in the same number of matches.

All eyes on Shubman Gill!

For Gujarat Titans, all eyes will be on Shubman Gill who seems to be in sensational touch in IPL 2023. The young opening batter is coming into this game on the back of two consecutive centuries, the latest of which came against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in GT’s last league game. Gill played a gem of a knock (104* off 52) and helped his team finish on high. 

Now, with a spot in the IPL 2023 Final up for grabs, GT will hope to ease past CSK and avoid any cluttering. Rashid Khan will also be a key player for the Titans.
