MS Dhoni was noticed by quite a few during his rookie years in the Indian team due to his hairstyle. He used to sport long hair and it became iconic. But he cut it down after leading India to the 2007 T20 World Cup victory and never kept long hair again (though he has often changed his hairstyle).

But it seems Captain Cool will sport his vintage hairstyle during the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), which is also expected to be his final tournament. During a recent promotional event, Dhoni spilled the beans on his haircare routine. He said that despite getting bored with maintaining long hair, he does it because fans love it.

Maintaining this hairstyle is very difficult. Earlier, I used to get ready in 20 minutes, now it takes 1 hour and 10 minutes. It's a bit boring, just sitting on that chair and waiting. I'm doing it because fans like it, but someday I wake up and decide it's enough, I'll cut it down.

He pointed out that Rahul has handled the captaincy duties in IPL and other ODIs as well and called him an expert in the Decision Review System (DRSH), saying his instinct is equal to MS Dhoni’s.
