Mujeeb Ur Rahman came in to bat when the Afghanistan team were in deep water. In the 35th over he came in to join Azmatullah Omarzai to bat and make sure the team lasted for 50 overs, despite having only three wickets in hand. Bangladesh had restricted Afghanistan to only 150 runs so far.
Unfortunately, Mujeeb Ur Rahman forgot a vital piece of protection. When he went in to bat and was getting ready to face his first ball, he realized he forgot to wear his abdominal guard, or commonly known as the box.
As the 12th man of the Afghanistan team ran into the ground to give Mujeeb his box, the Bangladesh fielders and Mujeeb were joking about the situation. Afghanistan unfortunately were bundled out for only 156 runs, thanks to a brilliant spin bowling performance by Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Bangladesh dominate Afghanistan in their World Cup fixture
In their first fixture of the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, Afghanistan played Bangladesh in the HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala. Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field first. That decision proved correct as they bowled out Afghanistan for only 156 runs. Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up 3 wickets each. Opener Rahmatullah Gurbaz fought alone as he scored 47 runs.

Bangladesh chased down the target with ease, but lost four wickets in the process. Najmul Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz each scored a half century each, but Tanzid Hasan, Litton Das, Shakib al Hasan and Mehidy Miraz all were dismissed. Bangladesh won the match by six wickets.
Bangladesh will now face defending champions England in Dharamshala on 10th October. Afghanistan will play hosts India on 11th October in the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
