It is no secret that the English Cricket Team and the Australian Cricket Team don’t like each other. Theirs is the oldest cricket rivalry, with the roots starting in 1882. After England lost to Australia at The Oval in 1882, the two teams have had one of the fiercest sporting rivalries of all time. After an action packed 2023 Ashes, the rivalry between the team had become more heated. When asked by the press about England’s poor performances in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, Aussie skipper Pat Cummins said he was sad but couldn’t get a smile off his face.

Pat Cummins was asked by a journalist how he felt after England’s recent loss to Sri Lanka. Cummins, unable to stop himself smiling, answered, “Yeah, obviously got them in a couple of games time, so we’ll have a close look there, but yeah it was sad to see.” As soon as he said the last few words he broke out into laughter, unable to contain his happiness.

England have had a horrid run so far in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. They have played five matches, but have only managed to win one. The defending champions could be knocked out of the tournament if they lose to India on Sunday. Australia will play England on 4th November at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Stuart Broad reveals he called Pat Cummins an “absolute disgrace”

The 2023 was one of the most heated Test series played in the past few years. A battle of ideologies and style was on display for five glorious Test matches played in a span of a month. In the 2nd Ashes Test in Lord’s Cricket Stadium, Jonny Bairstow was a victim of a controversial stumping by Alex Carey.

Stuart Broad revealed on the Up Front podcast that when he came into bat, he had a confrontation with Australian Captain, Pat Cummins, after Bairstow’s dismissal. He said as he walked into the field, the fans at the Lord’s were booing the Australian team. As Cummins came into bowl, Stuart Broad said to him, “You’re an absolute disgrace.”

Cummins just replied, “Oh yeah, you’re hardly an upkeep of the spirit of cricket,” which hurt Board. His reply was in reference to when Stuart Broad refused to walk away after being edged to first slip.

Stuart Broad also added that he started chanting with the Barmy Army while batting, singing, “Same old Aussies, always cheating.” When Cummins went to field at the boundary, the boos from the fans were directed at the fast bowler. Broad, who was batting, shouted at Cummins, “Pat! Pat! All these boos are for you mate. All of them, or you!”. He said he regretted acting like that while batting, saying he had no control over himself.
