It’s a treat to the eyes of the cricket fans when they a sharp catch is grabbed by the fielders and wicket-keepers. After his stunning 140*, Lucknow Supergiants’ Quinton de Kock displayed his brilliant catching skill to grab a one-handed catch, diving to his right side, to dismiss Kolkata Knight Riders’ Venkatesh Iyer. This match was played on Wednesday, May 18 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

You can watch the catch below:

As LSG set a huge total of 210 without losing any wicker throughout the innings, KKR batters were not less behind in their chase. But in the very first over, KKT suffered an early blow by losing Venkatesh Iyer off Mohsin Khan’s over. An inside edge of the bat sent the ball behind and De Kock was quick in anticipation behind the wickets to grab that one-handed diving catch.

LSG coach Andy Flower praised the duo and even asked them to retire out: “It’s a helluva score, they batted beautifully. We’ve been seeing some special batting from both of them this season and again that was brilliant to watch. They are both beautiful batters to watch. At the end of the 18th over, we sent a message on saying, ‘If you guys are too tired hitting the ball hard, you can retire and we’ll send some of our big-hitters in.” These boys, all of them, from 1 to 9 can hit the ball hard like that,” Andy Flower said.

“One boundary is a big boundary, so Quinton hitting balls like that, who’s not renowned for his big-hitting actually, that’d have given him a lot of satisfaction. One thing’s for sure, if you ever get complacent in this game, it comes and bits you. That is one message we’ll put out there. If we do the basics well, we’ll be in a good position,” he added.
