Lucknow Supergiants play the Punjab kings today. Punjab won the toss and elected to bowl first. Lucknow Captain KL Rahul who was in red-hot form had to depart early at just 6 runs. Rahul, who had already scored two centuries in this IPL, lost his wicket to Sandeep Sharma. Lucknow were off to a steady start with Quinton De Kock batting. Hooda and De Kock had studied the Lucknow innings and put them at a commendable position.

In the 13th over, The well-set South African opener Lost his wicket to Sandeep Sharma. De Kock was batting at 46 and was eyeing a half-century. Sharma bowled a delivery outside the line of off stump which de Kock tried to strike. He ended up edging the delivery to the wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma. The bowler and the keeper appealed for de Kock’s wicket.

To everybody’s surprise de Kock walked out before the umpire had signalled his decision. Punjab bowler Sandeep Sharma appreciated his sportsmanship.

The wicket of Quinton De Kock was a very big blow for Lucknow Supergiants as his presence in the crease would have steered Lucknow to a big total. Captain Mayank Agarwal bowling change seemed to have worked for the Punjab Kings.
