Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Rajat Patidar played an outstanding knock in a crucial match of Eliminator against Lucknow Supergiants on Wednesday, May 25 at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata.

The 28-year-old batter had previously represented RCB in several season and he wasn’t there with Faf du Plessis‘ team because most of the time he warmed the benches. He needed a chance to prove he is worthy and he did that. He smashed so many runs as an uncapped player and that too in the playoffs; he has created a record.

In the 16th over when Ravi Bishnoi came to bowl, he didn’t know how many more runs he will concede because Patidar smashed six, four, six, four, and a six to score 27 runs in that over.

On April 3, it was announced that Madhya Pradesh cricketer Rajat Patidar woule be joining RCB as a replacement for injured player Luvnith Sisodiya for the base price of INR 20 lakh. And since his joining the team, he has batted excellently in some matches and today was the match to be remembered for years.

He played 54 balls to score his century including 12 fours and 7 sixes. He became the first RCB as well as first player overall to hit a ton in the playoffs. From being a replacement, he became a talk of the town. In domestic cricket, Patidar has seven first-class hundred and three domestic one-day tons to his name. He is the fourth uncapped player to score a ton in IPL.
