On Sunday, July 24, Shoaib Akhtar shared a clip to announce about an upcoming movie, which is his biopic named “Rawalpindi Express- Running against the odds”. He said that he it’ll be the first foreign movie about a sportsperson from Pakistan. Akhtar is known for spewing venoms with his speed. Knows as the Rawalpindi Express, he is the record holder of the fastest ball till date.
He captioned the clip with this: “Beginning of this beautiful journey. Announcing the launch if my story, my life, my Biopic, “RAWALPINDI EXPRESS-Running against the odds” You’re in for a ride you’ve never taken before. First foreign film about a Pakistani Sportsman. Controversially yours, Shoaib Akhtar.”

Shoaib Akhtar’s cricket career and controversies
In 2003, Shoaib Akhtar bowled the fastest delivery in cricket against England in the World Cup. He clocked the time of 161.3 kph.
He made his debut for Pakistan in 1997 and went to play till 2011. He even stunned the crowd after bowling two legendary cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid in back-to-back deliveries. It was also Sachin’s first dismissal on golden duck in Test cricket.
His career was spoiled by injuries. As per his own revelation, he was born with almost no cartilage in his knees. In several interviews he had talked of how he had to take out fluid from his knees using a syringe multiple times during Test matches and even during ODIs.
Akhtar had played 46 Tests, 163 ODIs, and 15 T20Is. He picked up 178, 247, and 19 wickets in the formats respectively. 6/11 is his best bowling figures in Tests, 6/16 in ODIs, and 3/38 in T20Is.
He was also known for controversies on and off the field. In 2003, he was caught ball-tampering; was also suspended for abusing South Africa’s Paul Adams. Also, in 2006, he was suspended by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for testing positive for performance enhancing substance nandrolone. Due to this, he missed that year’s Champions Trophy. In 2007 World Cup, he was pulled out because of rumour of hitting Mohammad Asif with a bat during an altercation.
