England have failed to retain the Ashes and are playing the fifth Test to tie the series at The Oval in London. Australia great Ricky Ponting, who is a commentator for Sky Sports, was completing his duties after the game on Day 1 on Thursday (July 27), when suddenly a section of English fans threw grapes at him.
This happened after Ponting and host Ian Ward interviewed Aussie spinner Todd Murphy. Ponting was giving his views on the day’s play when fans started pelting him with grapes. While Ward tried to laugh it off, Ponting was visibly unimpressed by the fans’ disrespectful act and did not mince his words while saying he wouldn’t mind finding out who did that.
“I’ve just been hit by a grape. I wouldn’t mind finding out who that was actually,” the 48-year-old said while staring at the crowd.
