In the deciding match between India and South Africa, although the match has been abandoned due to rain, a video of Rishabh Pant is going viral all over the internet. Rishabh Pant is leading the team in the absence KL Rahul. Also Keshav Maharaj was handed the captaincy responsibilities in the absence of Temba Bavuma.
In this five-match T20I series, South Africa has won the first two and India defeated the Proteas in the last two matches. However, in the fifth and decider match, rain made things impossible to continue. Both the countries are currently level at 2-2.
What happened was that as the toss, to everyone’s surprise, Rishabh Pant yet again lost the toss. For the fifth time in a row, an unwanted record it could be, but it wasn’t Pant’s fault at all and he knew that. That’s why he was all smile when he lost the toss at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Former India captain Virat Kohli had this unwanted record to his name after he lost four consecutive tosses. Rishabh Pant is also the first captain to lose five or more tosses in a bilateral series.

“The practice isn’t working for me (on the toss). Looks like a good cricket, we would like to get anythung around 180-190. We just need to focus on the process and put in our 100% into the game. Playing the same team,” Pant said at the toss.
Since the match got abandoned due to rain, after the match Rishabh Pant said:
“It might get a little bit frustrating, but there are a lot of positives, especially the way the whole team showed character after the series was 0-2 down for us, was a huge positive,” said Pant after the match.
“We are trying to find different ways of winning matches; we are trying to play in a new way. Mistakes will happen, but we are going in the right way. I can only think about giving my 100% as a player and captain. It is for you guys to decide on how I am doing as a player and captain, I can only focus on giving my 100% every time I go on the field and keep improving,” he added.
