India captain Rohit Sharma often gives hilarious responses to reporters even when asked serious questions. This time, he was quizzed about who he thinks is Pakistan’s toughest bowler.

Many might have expected him to take tearaway pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi or Haris Rauf’s name. But Rohit was at his witty self again and ended up saying he would avoid taking anyone’s name as it will lead to unnecessary controversies.

Sab achhe bowlers hain. Main kisi ka naam nahi lunga, bahut bada bada controversy hota hain agar naam liya toh (All are good bowlers. I won’t take anyone’s name. It will give rise to controversy if I take names)” Rohit told reporters. He added that if he takes one’s name, the other will feel bad and it will keep going on.

Rohit’s wife Ritika Sajdeh was also present at the event and she burst into laughter. As it’s always the case, the video of Rohit did not take much time to go viral on Twitter.

Rohit Sharma and Co. will play their first match against Pakistan since the teams’ last encounter in the T20 World Cup last year. India produced one of the most memorable matches in World Cups when they defeated their arch-rivals by four wickets in the T20 World Cup.

In the upcoming Asia Cup, India will play Babar Azam and Co. on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. After that, the two rivals will meet in the ODI World Cup in India this October.

Rohit is not part of the T20I series against West Indies where the hosts are leading by 2-0. He along with Virat Kohli was rested for the recently-concluded ODI series against West Indies. India tried experimenting with their team composition but it ended up creating controversy because these two are the senior members of the squad and are required to lay pivotal roles in the upcoming ODI World Cup which is just two months away.
