After dropping 3 catches in the first 4 overs, India were in a bit of trouble as the Nepal openers had a partnership of 65 runs. After Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja picked up quick wickets, the Nepal captain Rohit Paudel came into bat.
Jadeja, who looked in good rhythm, immediately got Paudel out. He bowled a ball a bit outside off and Paudel tried to punch it through covers on the backfoot. Unfortunately for Paudel, he had edged it and Indian captain, Rohit Sharma was on slips.
Rohit Sharma had very little reaction time and managed to successfully catch the ball, which came in fast towards his left thigh. After catching, Rohit started to celebrate with his teammates with everyone smiling and happy with the wickets they were getting.
Nepal put up a target of 231
Thanks to great knocks by Aasif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel and Sompal Kami, Nepal put up a score of 230 runs against India. After dropping 3 catches in the first 4 overs, the Nepal openers put up a 50 run partnership until Kushal Bhurtel was caught behind. Aasif scored 58 before getting bowled by Ravindra Jadeja.
Thanks to quick wickets by Jadeja, Nepal were in a tougher position being 132 with 5 wickets down. After losing Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami came in and scored 48 off 56 balls. His innings ended after he nicked the ball off of Shami and Ishan Kishan took a brilliant catch.
India finally picked up the last few wickets in quick succession and now India will come in to bat, chasing 231 runs off of 50 overs. If India wins this match, they will qualify for the 2023 Asia Cup Super 4, where they will join Pakistan and the top 2 teams of the Group B.
