After tirelessly amassing runs in the Ranji Trophy, Sarfaraz Khan finally got the chance to make his Test debut in the third Test against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Thursday (February 15).
Sarfaraz walked onto the field to bat after captain Rohit Sharma‘s departure. After a slow start, he accelerated, and soon he reached his half-century off just 48 balls.

He was inching closer to his maiden Test ton as well, but that did not happen. In the 82nd over, after Ravindra Jadeja hit the ball off James Anderson towards the mid-on, the all-rounder called for a single but stopped midway.
But as Sarfaraz was already out of the crease and was on his way to the other end, he had to lose his wicket as Mark Wood collected the ball and quickly aimed for the stumps. Sarfaraz losing his wicket in this fashion angered captain Sharma, who threw off his cap.
