Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma turned singer after his team qualified for the IPL 2023 Playoffs. Sharma with his teammates tried the famous singing challenge where the participants have to sing a particular verse of a song. Suryakumar Yadva, Nehal Wadhera, and a few support staff members took part in this singing challenge. The group tried Kailash Kher’s famous song ‘Saiyyan’.

While Wadhera started the challenge with the arrow pointed at him, Surya took over. Rohit was fourth in the queue and probably sang it the best. The MI skipper perfectly nailed the high notes, just like he rides those bouncers with ease. Meanwhile, as one of the support staff members fumbled, Rohit and others broke into laughter. The MI captain shared the video with a witty caption on his Instagram handle.

This came after Gujarat Titans beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the final league game of the season and paved the way for MI. The Mumbai players were jumping in joy as Shubman Gill hit Wayne Parnell for a six to finish things off. Earlier, after MI beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last league game, Rohit Sharma had asked for a favour back from RCB.

Will Mumbai be able to break the Lucknow jinx?

Although Mumbai Indians have qualified for the playoffs and are all set to face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator, the Rohit Sharma-led team will have the abysmal head-to-head record against LSG on their minds. In three face-offs so far, Mumbai have failed to win even once. The five-time champions were handed a defeat by LSG a few days back when MI failed to chase 178.

Nevertheless, with Rohit Sharma back among the runs and the likes of Cameron Green and Suryakumar striking at their best, MI will fancy their chances. Tilak Varma, who single-handedly won a few games for MI is also expected to make a comeback. Even if Varma fails to make it to the playing XI, Nehal Wadhera has done a decent job in the middle order.
