Rohit Sharma congratulates Shubman Gill on his 3rd IPL century.

Gujarat Titans (GT) opening batter Shubman Gill is in the form of his life as the 23-year-old is smashing record after record. Gill has already scored over 850 runs in the ongoing IPL season and the stylish batter has hit three centuries on the road in a quest to these runs. The latest of the three centuries came against Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2023 Qualifier 2.

After MI captain Rohit Sharma asked GT to bat first, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha came to open the innings for the defending champions. However, they could not get going straightaway with the pitch doing its tricks. Saha also perished to Piyush Chawal while charging down the track.

Nevertheless, Gill was determined as ever and continued finding the gaps. The young batter fought hard and reached his half-century off 32 balls. But as soon as Gill crossed the landmark, he put his feet on the peddle and started smashing MI bowlers for fun. Shubman Gill hit three sixes against Akash Madhwal and never looked back. The batter eventually got to his century with a single off 47 balls.

This knock from Shubman Gill was so good that the opposition captain could not stop himself from congratulating the batter then and there. Sharma walked up to the GT opener and shook his hand before patting the latter on his shoulder.
