Ahead of the 2023 Aisa Cup final between India and Sri Lanka, a video surfaced on social media and took no time to go viral. In the clip, India captain Rohit Sharma could be seen standing outside the lift along with Shubman Gill.

Rohit could be heard saying: “Aisa nahi hoga, pagal hai kya? (It won’t happen this way, are you crazy?)“. The clip left the fans wondering what exactly Gill had said that prompted such a hilarious response from Rohit.

Rohit is an interesting character when it comes to his conversations with either his teammates or with journalists. He would always make sarcastic or funny remarks that would make one chuckle and this video with Gill was one such example.

India faced Bangladesh in their last Super Four stage match. However, the match did not go in India’s favour and Shakib Al Hasan’s men secured the victory by six runs after bundling out India for 259 runs.

India had to chase 266 runs and apart from Shubman Gill and a valuable knock from Axar Patel, other batters produced lackluster performances. Gill took 133 balls to score 121 runs with eight fours and five sixes and it was also his fifth ODI century. After the match, he received praise from captain Rohit Sharma.

Very clear in his mind and knows what he wants to do for the team. Just look at his form for the year and the past. It was been just brilliant. Solid against the new ball, works extremely hard and there is no optional practice as well,” Rohit said at the post-match presentation.

India are set to square off against Sri Lanka on Sunday (September 17) at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka, en route to the final, defeated Pakistan and Bangladesh.
