Rohit Sharma has been enraging the fans due to his knocks, fielding as well as the way he communicates with his teammates. After getting slammed for a low score in the first innings against England in Vizag, he found himself in hot water as his outburst on the stump mic sparked controversy.
On Saturday (February 3), when England were batting in the first innings following India’s 396, with Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes at the crease, Sharma could be heard abusing one of his teammates in Hindi. This happened after the end of the 31st over, when England were at 143/4.
In a video that is now circulating on social media, Sharma was telling the fielders to not roam around the field. But the way he said it, that is, uttering the ‘mother’ and ‘sister’ profanity (Garden me ghumega m** c*** dunga sabka), sparked controversy.

Netizens lambast Rohit Sharma for abusing his teammates
The video drew mixed reactions. That is to say, some fans said it’s common in sports for a player to use such language, pointing out that Rohit Sharma wasn’t the only one who hurled a mouthful. Some fans compared Sharma with Virat Kohli, who has often used cuss words, especially while celebrating. They feel when Kohli uses profanity, it’s called aggression, but when Sharma utters it, it triggers controversy.
However, some fans wrote that they did not expect the captain of the team to use such language. They said Sharma should keep in mind that young fans also watch and learn from them.

This was not the first time Sharma was heard abusing his teammates. During the first T20I against Afghanistan in January this year, he abused Shubman Gill after a mix-up, resulting in a runout for a duck.
Talking about the match, after India posted 396 in their first innings, Jasprit Bumrah‘s six-wicket haul helped India bundle out the visitors for 25 runs.
