But Rohit earned praise from fans and his critics as well for his aggressive captaincy. Veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty joined the bandwagon and lauded the Indian captain while comparing him with MS Dhoni.

Dhoni is undoubtedly the most successful Indian captain because India won all the ICC trophies that used to be there during his time as India’s leader. He is known for keeping his personal milestones aside and giving priority to the team’s requirements.

Shetty called Rohit selfless like Dhoni. The father-in-law of KL Rahul pointed out how Rohit used to give a quick start to the innings, not caring about his century, so that the middle-order batters didn’t feel the pressure and take India to a respectable target or help them win matches.

Rohit today is probably where Dhoni stands. Everything Rohit did was selfless, it was for the team.

He added:

He could have stuck on and scored his hundreds, but he said let me give that team an 80-90 run start and they took off. All of them…you can't ask for a better team. They lost the final, but they won every heart in this country.
