WATCH: Sachin Tendulkar left amazed at Suryakumar Yadav’s outrageous shot against Gujarat Titans, reaction goes viral
While it was not the first time Surya played such a shot, this one was different in quite a few ways.

Suryakumar Yadav was his destructive self on Friday when Mumbai Indians (MI) locked horns with Gujarat Titans (GT). The MI middle-order batter tore apart the GT bowling lineup as he scored a 49-ball 103*. Surya hit as many as eleven boundaries and six sixes during his inning. The MI batter played some outrageous shots to score these sixes and one of those shots left Sachin Tendulkar amazed.
The Master Blaster who was sitting in the Mumbai Indians dugout seemed mightly impressed with the shot Surya played against Mohammed Shami at the fag end of the MI innings. As Shami bowled a length delivery in the leg-stump line, Surya shuffled across the crease and made room for himself. The swashbuckling batter then nonchalantly lifted the ball for a six over third man.
While it was not the first time Surya played such a shot, this one was different in quite a few ways. The ball was up for a flick or a tuck behind square but the batter made room for himself and then played a lofted cover drive. However, at the very end moment, Surya titled his bat a tad which resulted in the ball ending over the third man boundary rather than backward point or cover. Sachin too was seen explaining the same.

Mumbai flying high in SKY!

On the back of this fantabulous knock from SKY, Mumbai Indians posted a massive 218/5 in their designated overs. The bowlers then backed the batting performance as MI reduced GT to 55/5 in 7.1 overs. Although David Miller (41 off 26) and Vijay Shankar (29 off 14) tried to hold one end, they could not.
Rashid Khan then played the best innings of his life as the GT player scored a 32-ball 79* and propelled GT closer to the target. Nevertheless, MI eventually won the game and reached the third position in the points table. The Rohit Sharma-led team now stand a few yards away from a playoffs berth. The five-time champions have stormed their way back after a disappointing start to IPL 2023.
